This family of 32 buses is the crown jewel of the MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority) fleet. The buses are Dual-Mode Articulated (DMA), indicating that the they are powered
by both electric drive (trolley) and diesel power. When detaching from the electric grid the bus seamlessly switches to diesel power to travel through an under harbor tunnel to the
airport and back. Once back to the city the electric power resumes automatically. Dual-Mode!
